Member and Prospective Member Current Meeting Announcements - Fall Meeting Sunday 14 October, GAR Hall, Eaton Rapids, MI Saratoga Surrender Remembrance Day

We will be having a Fall SRMI meeting in honor of The Saratoga Surrender of Gen Johnny Burgoyne on 17 October 1777 at the GAR Hall, 224 S. Main St., in Eaton Rapids, MI on Sunday 14 October 2018. This pivotal moment in the history of the revolution is the turning point where the American Colonial War became a World War, with France and Spain recognizing the Independence of the United Sates and took it’s side against the British Monarchy. We will assemble at Dab’s Patio, 148 S. Main St. for lunch at Noon. The meeting at the GAR Hall a few doors down at 224 S. Main St. to commence at 1:15 pm. We will be presenting our newest member Jim Pahl his SRMI Membership Certificate. I look forward to seeing you there. We are looking for members to step up and become more involved in the operations of your society. It is only as strong as those who will give it strength. Please help if you can.

On another note. Tis the season where things go bump in the night and on 20 October 2018 the GAR Hall will be sponsoring a Paranormal Investigation by the Capital Area & South East Capital Area Paranormal Research Society that is open to the public on a first come first served basis. The cost is $15.00 each and tickets are limited. The time will be from 8:00-11:00 pm. This is a fund raiser for the hall and all who are interested in finding out if anything spooky is going on there are encouraged to attend. Please, anyone with a pacemaker may have to sign a release before attending. It should be a fun and interesting way to spend an evening. Please find an attached announcement flyer for the particulars. Reservations are required to attend. Please call to reserve.

In Patriotism,

Geoffrey A. Hickok, President SRMI
